Introduction to the Project
TON is a PoS-based network that can infinitely shard and achieve millions of TPS, accommodating billions of users, smart contracts, and decentralized applications. TON can also connect to other blockchains, linking them together through its innovative HyperCube technology.
In addition to the TON main chain, TON has developed storage, websites, and DNS services, further enhancing the network by enabling communication between different blockchain shards and access to websites and files.
The goal of TON is to become a Web3.0 network that includes decentralized storage, I2P networking, instant payments, and high usability decentralized applications.
The TON project was launched by Telegram in 2019, but was halted in June 2020. Since then, the network has been supported by the open-source community of TON.
